Since the beginning of the year I had been emailing back and forth with my client Brett and his fiancé Emilia trying to figure out their elopement details as there has been so much going on in the world that it was hard to pin down a time for their special day. In early summer we were finally able to plan out their perfect elopement. Brett and Emilia traveled all the way to Montana from Mississippi to get married at Big Bend in Glacier Nation Park with their closest friends and family in attendance. They had been wanting to visit Glacier National Park for some time now and I was so excited to meet them and capture their special day for them.

Brett and Emilia arrived a few days prior to their wedding day to take some time to explore West Glacier National Park and to get some hiking in with their friends and family. On the day of the wedding we met up in West Glacier National Park to do their first look photos.  We walked a little trail along the river where there were not many people around and where they could enjoy their first look together without an audience around. First looks are a very intimate moment between the couples where it is just the two of them spending some time alone on their special day before the wedding ceremony and the I do’s. It is always heartwarming to watch the individual reactions when couples see each other for the first time on their wedding day. After giving Brett and Emilia some alone together we started back down the trail to our cars to drive up Going to the Sun Road.

As we drove up the mountain pass it was such a perfect day, the sky was a beautiful blue with puffy scattered clouds.  I do not know if you have ever been to Big Bend in Glacier National Park before but it has one of the most epic views in the whole park. The mountains are unreal against that big Montana sky. Brett and Emilia were pretty excited when we arrived at Big Bend. The wedding couple and their small group of family and friends all walked down the trail that led to a big rock where the happy couple would say their vows. Their ceremony was so beautiful, very intimate and personal.

We could not have asked for a better evening to have their wedding at Big Bend, the weather was perfect and the mountains around us were spectacular. After the ceremony and the exchange of vows we did more photo shoots of the couple and their family and friends. As the sun was setting that evening the clouds were just like cotton candy in the sky and what could be better than that for a sunset photo shoot.  The photos turned out absolutely gorgeous with the happy couple and the breath taking backgrounds.  Brett and Emilia were so nice and welcoming to me and my second shooter. I loved being able to spend the day with them and not only get to know them but their family and friends as well. After taking all the photos we were invited to have charcuterie boards and dessert with the wedding group on the Going to the Sun Road as a final celebration of the day. I have to tell you that those charcuterie boards were so beautifully put together and delicious. I truly have an amazing job!
